Dr. Emefiene Donates Drum Set to his Alma Mata, Rewards best pupils

Dr. Anthony Chuks Emefiene, an old pupil of Nwanoli Primary School Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha-South Local Government Area of Delta State, has donated a drumset to the school where he started his academic journey over four decades ago.

He also presented a cash reward to the best pupils in the school from Primary 1 to Primary 6.

Dr. Emefiene Anthony, who hails from Onicha-Uku quarters in Ubulu-Uku, recalls how being a member of the school band during his primary school days inspired his academic journey.

"I have a very emotional attachment to the school band.

"I was a member of the band during my days at Nwanoli Primary School, Ubulu-uku, and this helped to inspire me every day of the week to prepare early for school.

"Having that sense of responsibility and duty at a young age instilled diligence in me.

"It is my vision that playing this drum also inspires as many children to embrace education." Dr. Emefiene said.

He also made provisions for coaching sessions for the pupils selected by the school as members of the band.

Receiving the gifts, the headmistress of the school, Mrs. Mary Izediunor, thanked the donor and also encouraged parents to send their wards to the school as the school has adequate number of qualified teachers.

Amongst the pupils awarded with the price as best performing pupils are: Master Godwin Okolie, Miss Favour Udoka, Master Egbe Joseph, Miss and Master... and Miss Ugo Nkechi, representing Primary 1,2,3,4,5, and 6, respectively.
